This famous American Q house has been family owned and operated since
1928. And with fame comes celebrity visitors such as: F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus), George Wendt, Jerry Van Dyke, James Gandolfini,
Michelle Branch, Aerosmith, Willard Scott, Jerry Jones (Dallas Cowboys owner), D. Wayne Lukas (Horse trainer), Cliff Harris
(Oregon Ducks), Calvin Borel (Kentucky Derby winning jockey), Tom Green, John Malkovich and of course McClard's most notable
regular -- President Bill Clinton. McClard's hickory smokes their pork hams and each week they serve 7,000 lbs. of hickory
smoked beef, ribs and pork, 3,000 lbs. of hand rolled tamales and 3,000 lbs. of fresh-cut potato fries. I had an excellent,
very tender, already sauced, slaw-topped sliced pork sandwich with a side of slaw. My superb slaw side consisted of finely
chopped green and white cabbage with some carrot specks. If they had sweet tea I would have ordered it but they don't, so
I couldn't. Cash is king here and they don't accept credit cards. Enjoy!
